Lockett Wins Defense Verdict

On June 19, 2017, shareholder Tara W. Lockett from the Mobile, Alabama office received a defense verdict following a worker’s compensation trial on June 1, 2017 in Conecuh County, Alabama.  At trial, Plaintiff asserted he was permanently and totally disabled and in addition to seeking indemnity benefits asserted he had outstanding medical bills in the amount of $190,000.00.  At trial, Ms. Lockett presented an idiopathic defense arguing that Plaintiff’s injuries to his left and right knees and lumbar spine were not caused by his employment and were unexplained.

Sausaman Prevails on a Motion for Summary Judgement

Alison H. Sausaman of our Jacksonville (FL) office prevailed on a motion for summary judgment in federal court on behalf of a national convenience store chain. The court agreed that rain on an asphalt parking lot was not a dangerous condition and granted final judgment in our client’s favor.
