Heath L. Vickers serves as counsel in Carr Allison’s Jacksonville, Florida office. His primary areas of practice include defending matters involving trucking and transportation liability, governmental liability, retail and premises liability and products liability. He has tried cases before a jury ranging from commercial litigation to commercial motor vehicle liability.
An AV-rated attorney through Martindale-Hubbell, Heath is admitted to practice in Florida and before the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Florida Bar, the Bar Association of Jacksonville and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, where he co-chairs the Premises Liability Committee. Since 2013, Heath has been named on the Rising Stars list by the Florida Super Lawyers® magazine.
Prior to joining Carr Allison, Heath practiced with a civil defense firm in Jacksonville, Florida. He also interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division. After graduating from Georgia Southern, Heath worked for the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts in the Special Investigations Unit auditing governmental agencies and performing fraud investigations.
Heath graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University earning his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Florida Coastal School of Law.
While in law school, Heath was an active member of the mock trial team. He competed in the Georgetown Law National White Collar Crime Competition in Washington, D.C., the National Trial Competition Regional in Tallahassee, FL and the National Trial Competition Regional in Jackson, MS. Heath was awarded the “Exceptional Advocate Award” at the Georgetown Law National White Collar Crime Competition. He also won the inaugural Spohrer & Dodd Trial Advocacy Scholarship Competition.
An avid sports fan, Heath enjoys watching the Georgia Southern Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Braves. In February 2018, Heath and his wife were blessed with the birth of their daughter.
