Defense Win for Taylor and Wiley

On March 15, 2019, a Baldwin County (AL) jury returned a defense verdict for Mobile attorneys Jeremy P. Taylor and Aaron M. Wiley.  The Plaintiff in the case claimed an illegal and improper “jug handle turn” made by the Defendant, a trucking company, resulted in an accident and claims for a neck herniation.  Taylor and Wiley defended, arguing that the Plaintiff was contributorily negligent in causing the accident, that the trucking company itself was not negligent at all and diminished the Plaintiff’s damages.  The Plaintiff asked the jury for a range of $350,000 to $1.66 million.  After a week-long trial, the Plaintiff was awarded $0.00 in damages and entered a verdict in favor of the Defendant.
