Defense Win for McAlister and Hanning

Shareholder David McAlister and Associate Bain Hanning, from Carr Allison’s Birmingham, AL office, successfully defended their client in a circuit court jury trial in Jefferson County, AL.  The matter involved an automobile accident which occurred in Birmingham, AL, where the Plaintiff claimed to have suffered a traumatic brain injury, among other injuries.  The Plaintiff asked the jury for extensive damages including lost wages, pain and suffering, and mental anguish.  At trial, McAlister and Hanning argued that the Plaintiff was contributorily negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout.  After deliberating for close to an hour, the jury returned with a defense verdict.
