Alison H. Sausaman and Katie L. Iturra of our Jacksonville (FL) office secured a complete defense victory on behalf of a national auto parts retailer in a federal slip-and-fall lawsuit. The plaintiff alleged that rainwater tracked into the store caused a fall that resulted in cervical fusion surgery and was represented by one of the nation’s largest personal injury law firms.
Alison and Katie successfully obtained final summary judgment, leading the court to dismiss the case in its entirety. The court also awarded the defendant its attorneys’ fees pursuant to an expired proposal for settlement.
