Carr Allison Wins Defense Verdict

Shareholder David L. McAlister and Associate Bain Hanning, from Carr Allison’s Birmingham (AL) office, successfully defended their client in a Jefferson County (AL) circuit court jury trial.  The matter involved a premises liability claim, where the Plaintiff alleged to have sustained a slip-and-fall at a restaurant located in Birmingham.  The Plaintiff asked the jury for extensive damages including medical expenses, pain and suffering and mental anguish.  At trial, McAlister and Hanning argued the Plaintiff failed to satisfy the elements of a premises liability claim.  After deliberating for half of an hour, the jury returned with a defense verdict.
