Carr Allison Welcomes Alison Sausaman

Carr Allison is pleased to announce the addition of Associate Alison H. Sausaman to the firm’s Jacksonville, Florida office.  Alison’s litigation practice will focus on the areas of government torts and public liability, construction, transportation and premises liability.

Alison received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, graduating with honors, and her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law.  While in law school she served as General Counsel of the Florida State University Supreme Court, Business Relations Editor of the Florida State University Business Review, student member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court and Senior Member of the Florida State University Law Review.

Alison is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and before the United States District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.  She is a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association.  In 2016, Alison received the Florida Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Michael K. Reese Quality of Life Award.  Outside of work, she serves on the Board of Directors of Angels for Allison, a Jacksonville based non-profit which helps families cope with the loss of a child.

Sausaman Prevails on a Motion for Summary Judgement

Alison H. Sausaman of our Jacksonville (FL) office prevailed on a motion for summary judgment in federal court on behalf of a national convenience store chain. The court agreed that rain on an asphalt parking lot was not a dangerous condition and granted final judgment in our client’s favor.

Evan Baggett and Josh Ingram of our Birmingham (AL) office recently prevailed on a motion for judgment on the pleadings in a complex tort case. After extensive briefing and oral arguments, the court granted their motion and dismissed all the plaintiff’s claims with prejudice.
