Daughtry and Booth obtain arbitrator’s decision in favor of employer

Bricker S. Daughtry and Brad J. Booth in the firm’s Birmingham, Alabama office recently obtained an arbitrator’s decision in favor of an employer in a union grievance arbitration.  The union alleged the thirty year employee had been terminated without cause in violation of the collective bargaining agreement. The employer contended the termination was proper as the employee was observed assisting in the theft of company property. After a lengthy arbitration, the decision was in favor of the employer in full.  The union sought reinstatement and back pay for the aggrieved employee.
