Zwilling to Present Webinar on New DOL Independent Contractor Rule

On January 10, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor published new rules for classifying individuals as employees or independent contractors under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).  The changes will require that countless workers previously classified as independent contractors now be classified as employees.  Those employees will become entitled to overtime pay, in addition to many other employment benefits.  This webinar will explore the new rule and provide guidance for employers on proper classification to help them avoid significant potential liability.  We will also discuss insurance coverage issues related to FLSA claims.

This webinar is approved for one hour of continuing education credit by the Department of Insurance in the following states:  AL, CT, DE, and KY.  Approval is pending and expected from the Department of Insurance in the following states: AR, CA, FL, GA, IN, LA, MS, NV, NH, NM, NC, OK, TX, RI, VT, WV, and WY.

Also approved for one hour of professional development credit by HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute) and SHRM (Society for Human Resource Managers) for Human Resource Professionals.
