Lockett Successfully Defends Client

Carr Allison shareholder Tara W. Lockett of our Mobile (AL) office tried a workers’ compensation case and successfully defended her client. The plaintiff worked for the manufacturer for over 5 years and alleged as a result of the bright lights, loud noises and smells, she developed migraines that left her permanently and totally disabled. The plaintiff also sued the employer for wrongful termination.  Although Ms. Lockett did not represent the employer in the wrongful termination claim, both causes of action were tried together over two days. The court ruled that the plaintiff did not sustain an injury that arose out of or occurred in the course of her employment and because of that finding, the court could not as a matter of law find that the plaintiff was wrongfully terminated.
