Professional Profile

Kaleb Beams is an associate in Carr Allison’s Birmingham office where he practices in the areas of general liability defense, transportation litigation and medical malpractice defense. He works closely with insurers, businesses and individual clients to provide practical, results-driven representation across a range of civil defense matters.

Before joining Carr Allison, Kaleb served as an Assistant District Attorney for the 24th Judicial Circuit of Alabama, covering Fayette, Lamar and Pickens Counties, where he spent nearly eight years as a trial attorney handling violent crimes, domestic violence, drug offenses and property crimes. During that time he served as Lead District Court Prosecutor, Lead Prosecutor for the Circuit’s Restitution Recovery Unit and Lead Prosecutor under the Violence Against Women Task Force. He also has previous private practice experience handling medical malpractice defense, general liability matters and commercial litigation, including representation of banking institution clients on law enforcement compliance matters. His background in both criminal prosecution and civil defense gives him a distinctive perspective in evaluating liability, assessing damages and preparing cases for trial.

Kaleb is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, where he earned recognition as Top Advocate in Trial Advocacy. He also holds certifications from the National Computer Forensic Institute, a federally funded program operated in partnership with the US Department of Homeland Security and is certified in the Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation through John E. Reid & Associates. He completed the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association’s (ADLA) Deposition Boot Camp and is an active member of ADLA, the Alabama State Bar and the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association. Kaleb is admitted to practice in all Alabama state and federal courts, including the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Outside the office, Kaleb serves on the Pickens County Industrial Development Board. He and his wife Blair live in Tuscaloosa with their two children. He enjoys hunting, Alabama athletics and time with his family.
