Lane earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from Spring Hill College (AL). While at Spring Hill, he was a member of the Badger baseball team. Lane then earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law. While in law school, he was a staff writer and editor of the Mississippi College Law Review and interned with the Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.

In his free time, Lane enjoys rooting for the Louisiana State University Tigers and spending time with his friends. He is also a proud owner of a German Shepherd, Roux.
