Mary Elizabeth C. McKenney is an associate in Carr Allison’s Chattanooga (TN) office. Her practice focuses on defending matters of premises liability, construction, transportation and professional liability.

Prior to joining Carr Allison, Mary Elizabeth served as an Honors Attorney and Assistant General Counsel at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). At the NGA, Mary Elizabeth received the following honors: National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Superior Civilian Service Medal, NGA Director’s Vanguard of Distinction Coin recipient, NGA Director-Level awardee, Meritorious Unit Citation for Advising on Artificial Intelligence and the Intelligence Community (IC) Legal Team of the Year award.

Mary Elizabeth graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama Honors College, where she was a member of the prestigious Dr. Robert E. Witt University Fellows Program and served as Academic Affairs Chair and Senator in the Student Government Association. Mary Elizabeth then earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school, Mary Elizabeth earned the CALI Award in International Environmental Law, was the president of the Military Law Society and worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an Honors Intern.

In her free time, Mary Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband and family, running and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.
