Originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala, Donnie earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida in political science and criminology. He then went on to earn his law degree from Mercer University School of Law in Macon (GA).  While there, Donnie was the editor of the Mercer Law Review and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Society.

In his free time, Donnie enjoys playing tennis, volleyball and surfing.  He is also an avid traveler.
