C.H. “Hal” Houston III is counsel in Carr Allison’s Jacksonville, Florida office where he practices in the areas of transportation, government torts and public liability, commercial litigation and general litigation. Hal is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and before the United States District Court, Middle, Southern and Northern Districts of Florida and before the Eleventh Circuit Court of the United States. His experience includes all phases of litigation from pre-suit negotiation, through discovery and motion practice, including drafting dispositive motions and briefing, to handling trials and appeals and appellate oral arguments.
Hal received his Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree from the University of Florida, graduating cum laude, with a major in finance and minors in African studies and education. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Hal was a Florida Gubernatorial Fellow. He was selected as a member of Florida Blue Key and participated in the Jessup Moot Court.
Hal is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Federal Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Florida Bar and the Chester Bedell Inn of Court.
A native of Jacksonville, Hal sits on the Board of Daniel Kids, Florida’s oldest child-service agency. He is an avid Florida Gators fan and enjoys playing basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Heather and their two young children.
