Professional Profile

Alex Henry is an associate in Carr Allison’s Birmingham (AL) office where he is admitted to practice in Alabama.  He focuses his efforts on the defense of clients in matters involving workers’ compensation, labor and employment issues, general litigation and mediation.

Previously, Alex clerked for Circuit Court Judge Patrick Ballard in Jefferson County (AL), which involved attending daily hearings and trials and assisting the Court with researching and evaluating oral and written arguments and assisting in the drafting of the Court’s opinions and orders. Alex gained invaluable knowledge and firsthand experience at the trial court level as well as insight into how judges evaluate arguments and make their conclusions.  This has assisted him in better understanding the myriad complexities of his day-to-day practice. After completing his clerkship, Alex worked for a boutique law firm also focusing on workers’ compensation, employment law and personal injury cases.

Alex attended Franklin & Marshall University (PA) where he was as a four-year starter on Franklin & Marshall’s NCAA Division I wrestling team.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and went on to attend Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law (AL) where he earned his Juris Doctorate.

Alex grew up all around the world and loves to travel. He has lived in numerous places as a child and young adult, including New York City, Houston (TX), Lancaster (PA), Southboro (MA), Gulf Shores (AL), Birmingham (AL) as well as a decade abroad in Moscow, Russia. In his free time Alex enjoys spending time with his dog Lola, traveling with friends and family and watching the Crimson Tide.
