Martin and Petherick Obtain Dismissal

Sean W. Martin and Michael J. Petherick from our Chattanooga (TN) office, have obtained dismissal of a false imprisonment claim against its department store client.  Plaintiff claimed he was falsely accused of shoplifting and that he was confronted by the store’s employee who ultimately took his car keys and prevented him from leaving the premises.  The court granted the motion to dismiss and the subsequent appeal was dismissed and the decision of the trial court affirmed.
