Professional Profile
Patrick serves as counsel in Carr Allison’s Birmingham (AL) office. He is admitted to practice in Alabama, the US District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, the US Supreme Court and the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He focuses his practice on defending matters involving professional liability, extra contractual, fraud, insurance coverage and retail and hospitality. In addition, Patrick has extensive experience in commercial trucking and automobile accidents, products liability actions, mass and toxic torts involving carbon monoxide exposure and mold and environmental actions involving CERCLA, RCRA and the Clean Water Act.
He is an active member in the Alabama Defense Lawyers’ Association where he serves on the publications and amicus curiae committee. Patrick is also a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, the Defense Research Institute and the Birmingham Bar Association. He has been published in the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association Journal and multiple Defense Research Institute publications.
Patrick graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and English. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M School of Law. While there, he served as an article editor for the Law Review. Away from work, Patrick serves as deacon at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. He also enjoys reading, mainly southern gothic and American literature. Patrick has been married to his wife, Lake, for over twenty years, and they have two children that keep him busy with golf and tennis.
