Kathy R. Davis is a shareholder with Carr Allison and is a resident in the firm’s Birmingham (AL) office. She serves as chair of the firm’s Construction Law Group, focusing her practice on handling construction law, general litigation, product liability and insurance coverage matters. Kathy is recognized as “approved construction counsel” for several major liability insurance carriers.
Katy is the immediate past chair of the DRI’s Construction Law Committee and former chairperson of the USLAW Network’s Construction Litigation Group. She is a frequent author and lecturer on topics involving construction law and insurance coverage. In 2015 she served as southeast region editor for DRI’s 2015 Bad Faith Law Compendium. Kathy was also a contributing author to an article on catastrophic failures entitled, “Moving from the Minors to the Majors” that was published in the August 2011 issue of DRI’s For the Defense magazine. Among other articles she has previously written on construction, her work was published in DRI’s first time publication: “Construction Litigation Desk Reference,” January 2010. In addition she was named as one of Birmingham’s “Top Women Attorneys” by bMetro magazine in 2015 and 2016.
Kathy’s practice includes a significant amount of construction related litigation and she has represented general contractors, subcontractors, developers, owners, architects, engineers and suppliers in litigation, mediation and other proceedings in connection with construction contracts and projects.
