Professional Profile

Jonathan R. Maples is a shareholder in the Mobile (AL) office of Carr Allison.  His practice includes the defense of labor and employment claims, professional liability claims and a broad range of personal injury defense, including claims sounding in product liability, premises liability and admiralty law.  Jonathan’s labor and employment and professional liability practice includes representing employers and businesses in state and federal court, as well as during investigations by governmental agencies.  His maritime law practice includes defense of both blue-water and brown-water claims, whether arising from commercial or recreational boating activities.  In addition to defense work, Jonathan also provides insurance coverage analysis for commercial, residential and marine policies.

Jonathan obtained his undergraduate degree in accounting from the Culverhouse School of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama.  He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Jonathan is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Baldwin County Bar Association and the Mobile Bar Association.  He also belongs to the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and the Propeller Club for the Port of Mobile.  As a member of the Mobile Bar Association, Jonathan previously served as president of the Mobile Young Lawyers and the Mobile Bar Association Executive Committee.  He also served on the board for the Mobile Bar Foundation.

In addition to traveling with his wife, Jonathan enjoys spending time away from work reading, playing golf or boating.
