Professional Profile
Hannah H. Stokes is an attorney in Carr Allison’s Birmingham, Alabama office where her practice focuses on construction, personal injury, premises liability, and products liability defense. She has secured summary judgment for clients ahead of trial and obtained defense verdicts at both trial and arbitration. She has successfully defended general contractors, subcontractors, homebuilders, design professionals, retail corporations, and property management companies. She has also represented clients in an array of other matters, including workers’ compensation and automobile negligence cases.
Hannah enjoys that each day of practice is different than the last. Some days she is taking depositions or working with subject matter experts to bolster defense strategies in a construction case. Other days, she may be at a critical inspection, meeting with a client to collect company data, or writing a brief to support winning legal arguments. Hannah’s recent experience includes working on several multi-party cases in both state and federal court. Whether advising clients on a quick issue or defending a complex case with numerous adverse parties, she focuses on effectively navigating the path to a favorable outcome. She aims to provide a tailored approach to her cases, which meets the individual needs and desires of each client. This often involves performing extensive factual investigations, the preparation and presentation of dispositive motions, and developing trial strategies.
Hannah earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama. She then earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she served as President of the Dorbin Association and received the Justice Janie L. Shores Scholarship. After passing the bar, she began practicing insurance defense litigation in Birmingham. Hannah is active in the BBA Women Lawyer’s Section Board. She is also a Board Member for the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Young Lawyer’s Section and Women in the Law Section. In 2019, she was a recipient of the BBA Women Lawyer’s Section Distinguished Service Award.
Hannah is originally from Rainbow City, Alabama. She currently lives in Birmingham with her husband and daughter. Outside of the office, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her Boykin Spaniel.
