Professional Profile

Gage C. Smythe is an associate in Carr Allison’s Birmingham, AL office.  His practice focuses on insurance and coverage issues, as well as matters involving professional liability.

Gage received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, with a major in Communication Arts and minor in English, from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  He was a member of the university’s jazz band and served as Editor-in-Chief of the university newspaper, The Charger Times.  He earned his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (AL), where he was named to the Dean’s List every semester and graduated cum laude.  While attending Cumberland, Gage served as Executive Editor for the Cumberland Law Review and competed on the ABA National Moot Court Team.

Gage currently serves as a member of the WBHM Junior Board, which provides support and outreach for Birmingham’s National Public Radio station.  He enjoys spending time with his dog, Jem and is an avid baker and cook.
