Emily Raines is an associate in Carr Allison’s Birmingham, AL office where her practice focuses on products liability, personal injury, insurance and transportation. She is licensed to practice in Alabama.
Emily graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration . She received the Agnes Blankenship Arthur Endowed Scholarship and was selected to Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. While in the Honors College, Emily actively participated in the student Government Association and Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
Emily went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she served as Senior Editor of the Law & Psychology Review. She was active with Moot Court, placing as a semifinalist on the Campbell Moot Court team and serving on the Board. She also competed on the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court team, finishing as a semifinalist. In the area of trial advocacy, she earned Best Plaintiff’s Team honors during the 2019 Academy of Trial Lawyers Trial Competition and was a George Peach Taylor Award recipient. Emily held leadership posts with the Student Bar Association, the Civil Litigation Society and the Dorbin Association. She also provided pro bono services through the Civil Law Clinic and invested several hours in community service with organizations that included: Raise the Bar mentoring program, Tuscaloosa Urban Missions, Al’s Pals and READ Alabama.
Emily, a native of Mobile (AL), loves reading (a lot), running and playing fetch with Cooper, her chocolate lab puppy.
