Derek W. Mullins is an associate at Carr Allison in the Chattanooga, Tennessee office, where his practice focuses on commercial litigation, insurance, insurance coverage, products liability, professional liability, and other general litigation matters. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Tennessee and before the United States Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Derek received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) with majors in History and Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law with a concentration in advocacy and dispute resolution. While in law school, Derek earned several awards and honors, including multiple Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) Excellence for the Future Awards, recognition from the Supreme Court of Tennessee for over 100 hours of pro bono service and a nomination to the Order of Barristers, a national honors organization recognizing exceptional skill and achievement in trial advocacy, oral advocacy and brief writing. He was also heavily involved in moot court competitions and programs, serving as secretary of the Moot Court Board. Derek served as Articles Editor of the Tennessee Journal of Law & Policy and was a student attorney in the UT College of Law’s Appellate Litigation Clinic.
Outside of his law practice, Derek enjoys attending concerts, hiking, running, traveling, spending time with his friends and family, and cheering on his beloved Tennessee Volunteers.
