Insurance Regulatory Law

Carr Allison represents an extensive range of insurance carriers and related companies. Our clients have included property and casualty companies, health insurers, life insurers, HMO insurance administrators, insurance trade organizations, managing general agencies, reinsurers, retirement service specialists, brokers, and insurance sales professionals.

We regularly handle a wide variety of administrative and regulatory matters, including the licensing of new companies, market conduct examinations, consumer complaints, rate-making issues, acquisitions, and general corporate services. We specifically tailor our professional services to each client's needs and budget. Our location in the state capitol allows us to maintain close relationships with the regulators at every level, from the entry level examiner to the insurance commissioner. By coupling our experience with those close working relationships, we are able to provide efficient and informed advice to our clients.

Over the years we have assisted our clients with services ranging from the creation of property and casualty carriers and holding companies to simple form filing and approval. We have experience with capital formation strategies, mergers, liquidations, risk management, and agent/agency issues.

Our lawyers regularly provide "general counsel"-type advice and service to our insurance clients, and the Firm is honored to act as General Counsel to the Florida Automobile Joint Underwriting Association, the legislatively created entity providing automobile insurance to those unable to secure coverage in the voluntary market.
